Breakfast at Cragwood…

Breakfast at Cragwood is generous and healthy, designed to set you up for a day on the fells or exploring Keswick and the surrounding villages.  All ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible with the season in mind.

Our Cumberland sausage and dry cured bacon are made from pigs raised in the Cumbrian village of Wiggonby. The sausages are made by hand and the bacon is cured using a traditional recipe by Keswick butcher Bomber (regulars to Keswick will know Bomber from Thomasons’ Butchers).  Our black pudding is made in the next county by the family run award winning Real Lancashire Black Pudding Company.

Our free range eggs are delivered by Sheila who keeps happy chickens at Scales Farm in the nearby village of Embleton and our milk is delivered in glass bottles by our milkman, Steven, who is based just down the road in Braithwaite. Our Darkhouse coffee is roasted in Keswick by Jiri who specialises in single origin coffees from around the world and our tea, Cumbrian Tea ‘Ramblers’ Brew’, is specially blended for our Cumbrian water and 100% plastic free.  We aim to give you a good choice, with everything from fresh fruit pots, cereals, homemade rolled oat porridge and toast, to your pick of items from our full English breakfast.

We politely ask you to order breakfast the night before so we can keep our food waste to a minimum.

Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options are available and clearly marked on our menu.  If you require a special diet, or have any allergies, please mention this to us when you book.

Flasks are filled for free.
